The most important thing about choosing a photographer? You have to like them! If you’re not comfortable with your photographer then it will show. Brides spend most of their day with their photographer and parents trust their photographer to get the best out of their kid. You need to feel like your photographer is someone you like, trust and enjoy being with. That’s why not every photographer is right for every person.
So here is a bit about me. If I sound like your kind of photographer, then give me a hollar! I love meeting new people and working together to make you look fabulous!
The basics: modern life photographer specializing in weddings, events, and portraits
Mission: to capture my clients inner fabulous.jpg)
Why I am a photographer: My parents have ONE wedding photo. One. It was taken on a polaroid camera and is not the best (you can see it here). It’s funny that they only have one photo because my dad photographed everything. I have boxes and boxes of photos of little mundane details of our lives. But we never had any real family photos. I cherish the few that we do have… especially now that my Dad is gone. When my husband I were married I wanted to be sure that we had fabulous photos to pass down to our kids. The day goes by so quick but the photos are there forever. I love being part of capturing history – your history - so that you can look back at it and remember exactly how you felt. Great photography is an investment, but your children will thank you!
My photographic style: At heart I am a portrait photographer. But I’m not a huge fan of the super posed look. You know the ones that you get when the photographer says “cheese”? I love images of people when they let their guard down… the moment between the moments. Each of my photo sessions/weddings include some time for more posed images because, at the end of the day, you want at least a few of those. But then I leave some time open for play. I let the kids roam or give the bride and groom a few moments to just reflect on the day. I am just a fly on the wall catching the moments as they happen. I believe that the real beauty of life is in these simple moments, the ones between the poses… and that is what my photography captures.
