The Three Simple Steps To Getting New Business

There are three distinct phases in the purchasing process called the marketing funnel. It represents the stages people go through as they get to know you and your brand. And once you understand each stage and what to do as your potential customer goes through them, you're business will boom!

Step 1: Awareness. This is the top of the marketing funnel, where your activities should reach the most people. You have 3-5 seconds to grab their attention and give them the most information, without expecting anything from them in return.

Frequency and repetition are incredibly important in this phase, as people need to see information 7-30 times before remembering it!

Awareness activities include SEO, social media, content marketing, blogging/vlogging, articles, ads, public relations (interviews), networking, and directory listings.

Step 2: Consideration. As the second stage of the marketing funnel, the number of people in this phase narrows. They are now aware of your business and may actively be seeking information.

Longer form content is important here. These people are willing to give you more time and more information about themselves and their needs. This is the phase where you should develop a good email list of potential clients to move into the next phase.

Consideration activities include landing pages, lead magnets, webinars, websites, freebies (guides, trials), FB groups, remarketing, AND Social Media (but there's a specific way to do it).

Step 3: Decision. This is the final phase of the purchasing process, and the step where you convert interested people into customers through direct email marketing or 1:1 meetings. Decision activities include emails and product promotions (limited-time or bundles).

And that's it!

If you can understand and move people through the three steps of the marketing funnel, your business will grow. Watch my free training for more details about each step.
